Welcome to Intelligent Logistics & Supply Chain Analytics (iLSCA) Lab!
Based at the Thrust of Intelligent Transportation (INTR), Systems Hub, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and led by Prof. Benedict Jun MA, our dynamic team currently consists of 13 motivated researchers, including 6 full-time Ph.D. students (enrolled in 2026) and 7 Research Assistants.
Together, we are dedicated to solving the critical challenges facing modern logistics and supply chains by deeply integrating intelligent transportation, smart warehousing, autonomous drone & robotics systems, and large language models (LLMs).

Prof. Benedict Jun MA
Assistant Professor, INTR
As the leader of the iLSCA lab, Benedict is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in INTR at HKUST(GZ). Prior to this, he was a Postdoctoral Associate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, affiliated with the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics (CTL) and the MIT Digital Supply Chain Lab. He received his PhD from the Department of Data and Systems Engineering at The University of Hong Kong. He was also a visiting researcher at Mines Paris – PSL University, Erasmus University Rotterdam, HKUST, and NHH.

Mr. Borui GAO
Ph.D. Student in INTR
Borui Gao joined the team in January 2026. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Dept. of Transportation Engineering, Tongji University and Master’s degree from Bartlett School of Planning, University College London. He also has working and internship experiences in Shenzhen, Shanghai and Chengdu, regarding urban transport planning and research. He plans to futher his academic journey in smart logistics and transport geography.

Ms. Man WANG
Ph.D. Student in INTR
Man Wang started her Ph.D. program in this lab in January 2026. She got her Master’s degree in Management Science and Engineering from Hunan University in 2024. Her research interests include smart warehousing, optimization algorithms, and operational efficiency in logistics systems.

Mr. Frederick KHASANTO
Ph.D. Student in INTR
Frederick Khasanto received his Bachelor’s degree in Data Science and Big Data Technology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen in 2026. He joined the research team in the same year and will continue as a Ph.D. student starting in Fall 2026. He previously served as a remote research intern at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he worked on vision-language models. His research interests include artificial intelligence, deep learning, and their applications in transportation and logistics systems.

Ms. Xincan WANG
Ph.D. Student in INTR
Xincan Wang will join the lab as a Ph.D. student in September 2026. She received her Master’s degree from South China University of Technology in 2026 and her Bachelor’s degree from Guangxi University, both in Computer Science and Technology. Her research interests include combinatorial optimization, evolutionary computation, path planning, and human-robot collaboration.

Ms. Yi WANG
Ph.D. Student in INTR
Yi Wang will start her Ph.D. program in September 2026. She obtained her Master’s degree from Technical University of Munich and her Bachelor’s degree from University of Paderborn (DAAD Scholarship). She has gained working experience in system testing, process management, and electric drive project coordination at MAN Truck & Bus, Knorr-Bremse, and AUDI. She plans to further her research journey in LLMs for supply chains and intelligent decision-making systems.

Mr. Zecheng YIN
Ph.D. Student in INTR
Zecheng Yin is fanatic about Robotics and Deep learning researches. He has substantial technical background in Computer Science and was PyG contributor. Before joining iLSCA as a Ph.D., he has three years’ robot experience as research engineer in the CUHK (Shenzhen), Future Network Institute of Intelligence. Off work, he is also enthusiastic about food, music theory/guitar and basketball. His researches can be found in google scholar.
Ms. Jinyi YAN
Research Assistant
Jinyi Yan started working as a Research Assistant in this lab in March 2026. She got her Bachelor’s degree from Southeast University in 2026. Her research focuses on UAV collaborative scheduling.
Mr. Songtao GU
Research Assistant
Songtao Gu joined the research team in January 2026. He will receive his Bachelor of Engineering degree from the joint program of Southwest Jiaotong University and the University of Leeds in June 2026. Following this, he will proceed to Tongji University to pursue his Master’s degree in September 2026. His research interests lie in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), with a specific focus on Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) platoon coordination and mixed traffic flow optimization.
Mr. Suming LI
Research Assistant
Suming Li joined the team as a Research Assistant in February 2026. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Transportation at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. His research interests include low-altitude logistics, logistics network design, and network optimization.
Ms. Xiaoyun WANG
Research Assistant
Xiaoyun Wang joined this lab as a Research Assistant in April 2026. She received her Master’s degree in Transportation Planning and Management from Beijing Jiaotong University. Her research interests include human-AI collaboration and smart parking operations.

Mr. Yin HUANG
Research Assistant
Yin Huang joined the team in January 2026. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from Southwest Jiaotong University. His research interests include intelligent transportation systems, spatiotemporal big data mining, and spatiotemporal LLMs.

Mr. Yuyao ZHANG
Research Assistant
Yuyao Zhang is currently an undergraduate student in Computer Science and Technology at the Faculty of Data Science, City University of Macau. He joined the team as a Research Assistant in 2026. His research interests include reinforcement learning, neural combinatorial optimization, and routing problems with complex constraints. He has experience in applying deep reinforcement learning frameworks to traveling salesman problem variants and benchmarking learning-based methods against classical optimization solvers.
Mr. Zhiwei LEI
Research Assistant
Zhiwei Lei joined the team as a Research Assistant in October 2025. He obtained his Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from Anhui University in 2026. His research interests include reinforcement learning, multi-objective optimization, and their applications in supply chain systems.
Mr. Ziqian XU
Research Assistant
Xu Ziqian joined the team in July 2026. He received his bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University. His research interests include operations research and network design in transportation systems.
